Getting Started with MS Internet Mail

  • Operating System: Windows 95
  • Application: MS Internet Mail

Download

  1. Open a web browser. (Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer, etc.)
  2. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/ieplatform/imn/imn.htm and select Internet Mail and News 1.0 for Windows 95 & NT 4.0
  3. Click the Next button.

Configure

  1. After downloading the Internet mail and news package run Internet mail by clicking on the downloaded file.
  2. When you see the Internet Mail Configuration screen, click Next.
  3. In the Name text box, type your name.
  4. In the e-mail address text box, type your email address.
  5. Click Next button.
  6. In the POP3 text box, type post-office.yourdomainname.com
  7. In the SMTP text box, type post-office.yourdomainname.com
  8. Click Next.
  9. In the Email Account text box, type your username
  10. In the Password text box, type your e-mail password (case sensitive.)
  11. Click Next button.
  12. Select your connection type.
  13. Click Next button.
  14. Click Finish button.
  15. To connect to Infomatika, double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop.
  16. Double-click the Infomatika icon.
  17. Click the Connect button.
  18. Enter your login password, if necessary.
  19. Once connected to EarthLink, click the Start button, point to Programs and select Internet Mail.
  20. Click the Send and Receive button to check your mail.
